010 - Cars and Mental Health

Let’s get serious for a second.

Here at Krawlerz we’re all about community, our goal is to create a positive movement where people can come together and appreciate each others vision and talent, regardless of how they may express it. With that said, We believe that looking after yourself is just as important and that brings me to the topic of this post, mental health.

In todays day and age, mental health awareness is at an all time high, but so is mental illness, I know all too well what it’s like to feel isolated and hopeless. We want to take a second to remind all of our friends, family and followers that there is always a way to get help, even when all seems lost.

I’m lucky enough to have started this movement with one of my closest childhood friends, and it was our mutual love of cars that helped to get me out of the slump. I tried to find comfort at the bottom of a bottle, tried drugs, tried countless ‘quick fixes’ but ultimately it was my Skyline I feel helped me the most.

We all know how stubborn old Japanese cars can be, and I sincerely believe that if you can own and maintain one of those, you can overcome anything. We would also like to take a minute to acknowledge the work of game changing organisations such as Cars For Hope and Beyond Blue for their hard work in breaking stigmas and helping people everywhere. We also want you to remember that you aren’t alone in your struggle, whatever it may be.

Today is R U OK? Day.
